Etymology[]
The word Laginia comes directly from the word Lagin, the traditional Head of State. Lagin comes from 2 Laginian words, Laur meaning light and Gil, meaning star. It comes to a wordplay that it means Evershining Star. Another way of seeing the etymology is another laginian word, Lin, meaning root, together with the word, Gil. Another word for the first part of the name is Ril, meaning shine.

Etymology[]

History[]
Before the temple[]
The laginians has been in in the southern Iberian peninsuela since 5000 BC, and agriculture since 4500 BC. By 2750 Ainarule was finished being built.
First Lagin[]
Lagin I was known for his many tactics. Laginia used elephants from their southern neighbors. Laginia became a military power at southern iberia, and in 2600 conquering all of it.
By 2550 Laginia begun its invasion on the vandal nation of the south. The vandal holdings on the meddieterrainean coast fell in 2525, in the Battle Of Carthage. The city of Carthage was renamed Minar.
By 2470 Laginia began expanding trough southern France, and down trough the italian peninsuela. by 2430-2390 BC Laginia had a conquest on The Balkans and western Turkey. In 2270 Laginia conquered the egyptian coast, not attacking further down trough Egypt than untill Cairo. Laginia only established a few outposts on the very far eastern coast of meddieterrainean.
First Lynium[]
In 2230 Lynium I came to the throne. His brother Lagin II, was given governance of the egyptian regions. By 2220 a rebellion happpened in Laginia, splitting Laginia into four parts, North Laginia, South Laginia, East Laginia and West Laginia.
The rebellion ended in the Battle of Hanar, where Lynium I's troops landed on the north african coast. Lynium died in an assasination shortly after the war.
Second Lagin[]
Lagin II managed to keep Laginia under control for nearly 1000 years. In 1200 BC A group of barbarians rampaged through the italian peninsula. With this sign of weakness, the egyptians didn't hesitiate with invading their former lands. The Phonecians to the east weren't late for kicking the laginians out either. The only east laginain lands which remained after this were western Turkey and southern Balkan.
In west Laginia, the north african troops managed to hold off the vandal invations. And in north Iberia the small village of Ramar suddenly grew to the starting point of the wall of the same name.
[Insert laginizated punic wars here]Battle of Minar[]
West Laginia stood untill the last piece of earth was conquered by the romans.
Laginia has lost its temple, and that way ending its golden age, it now slowly was consumed by the romans which came from the east. Only Barnar was left, which became a fleeing place, if you didn't wish to pay the roman taxes.
Medieval times[]
By 700 AD the laginians had stood idle for a bit too long. The city of Barnar was holding 500k inhabitants, while having Byzantine empire as their only neighbor. Over time relations had became good with the byzantines, so their didn't believe Laginia to be any threat.
In the other end of the meddieterrainean, the muslim had just begun their conquest of Iberia. The current Lagin saw that as a good chance to conquer the temple.
in 721 AD, a fleet of 300 ships and 3000 troops landed on the coast of Iberia.
